Why do students struggle with academic subjects despite having an abundance of learning resources?

Students often get overwhelmed by all sorts of information, struggling to establish an effective learning plan, and lack the confidence to solve problems on their own.

We are two engineers specializing in materials and mechanical engineering, respectively. Over the past ten years, we have tutored students in our spare time, sharing our knowledge and learning experiences in math, physics, and other STEM subjects.
At first, we simply focused on relaying the knowledge. As time went by, we noticed

Instead of simply showing students how to solve a problem, we explain the reasoning behind each step and show them how to think critically, just like an engineer.

As engineers, we are accustomed to approaching challenges from multiple angles, breaking down complex problems into simpler parts, and looking for the most effective way to solve them. When it comes to the present educational system, we discovered a significant gap—one that limits students from learning effectively, no matter how hard they try.
We realized the key to effective learning is not only the stuff written in printed books, but how it is taught.

Engineering is a way of thinking—breaking down complex problems and finding the most effective solutions. We firmly believe this problem-solving mindset, refined through years of industry experience, is here to help students unlock success in any subject.

We took this idea to the next level, combining engineering mindsets with our teaching philosophy to design a systematic learning method—and ultimately, a brand-new tutoring school.

Provide the necessary tools to build a strong foundation for future academic advancement.

Providing the foundational tools needed for future academic success, we offer a structured and methodical curriculum focused on problem-solving skills. We track each individual’s progression, identify weak spots, and customize a personalized learning path for each of them. We reject the "one-size-fits-all" teaching approach and instead focus on helping every student learn how to fundamentally understand and solve problems.

We equip each student with the right tools, offering more focused, short-term support for independent growth. As their confidence and ability grow, the level of difficulty is subsequently increased to hone their learning ability.

  • We teach effective note-taking skills, using notes as visual aids to reinforce learning. Through repetitive exposure and various levels of practice, we help students achieve their learning goals.
  • Our curriculum is constructed in a way that trains students to organize and review their own notes. In addition, we expose them to a myriad of problem sets, familiarizing them with different exam patterns.
  • We encourage students to plan their learning in advance, guiding them to identify areas for improvement through past learning experiences.

During my time as a visiting scholar at the Materials Engineering Department in the States, I developed an interest in their educational system. Starting in 2014, I have tutored students preparing to study abroad, accumulating over ten years of teaching experience.
With a rich and diverse teaching background, I custom-design a study plan for each individual in a timely manner. By leveraging my training in engineering, I guide students toward excellent academic results. I am skilled at combining academic knowledge with practical application, helping students not only master the fundamentals, but understand the real-world significance of each subject.
